メリークリスマス！

といっても、今までのクリスマスとは随分と違いますね。

今年は家で過ごさなくちゃいけない。
外出して、仲のいい友人と乾杯したい気持ちもわかるけれど・・・
今年は我慢。

こんな時期にも必死に、ウイルスと戦ってくれている医療従事者の方々に感謝して・・・
世界全体で協力しあいましょう！


家で楽しくクリスマスを過ごして頂きたいと思います。

そんな時に、暗くなりかけた気持ちを盛り上げてくれるのが心をときめかす音楽。
普段とは違う辛い社会環境ですが・・・
クリスマスソングは、あなたの心に、きっと落ちつきを与え、感謝の気持ちを、より強く思い出させてくれる。

ジャパニーズ・シングル・コレクション:グレイテスト・ヒッツ (DVD付) - アース・ウインド & ファイアー

アーティストのシングル曲って国によって異なるものなんですね。
今年結成から50周年を迎えるEarth,Wind & Fire。

日本でリリースされたシングル曲を集めたコレクションセットが発売されました。
2CDと1DVD.
分厚いブックレットが2冊付属しており、そのうちの1冊は日本でのシングルジャケットを並べたもの。
初期の頃のデザインは、さすがに時代を感じさせます。



今回特筆するべきは、Brazilian Rhymeの完全バージョンが初めてCDに収録されたこと。
そして、4曲のプロモーションビデオが初めてDVDに収録されたこと。

まず、Brazilian Rhyme。
いつも、もっと聴きたいと思わせてくれるため、演奏時間が長くなったのはありがたいです。

久しぶりにEWFのヒット曲を時代の流れとともに聴いていると・・・
改めて、それらの完成度の高さに驚かされます。
アレンジや、コーラスそれらの全てにおいて細部まで綿密に組み立てられているんです。

さらにDVD.
”Wanna Be The Man”
こちらは初めて視聴しました。
※決してかっこいいといえる出来上がりではありませんが・・・

久しぶりに、Maurice Whiteの”I Need You"のビデオを見て感じたこと。
最初に見た際には思わなかったのですが・・・
このビデオには複数の美女が登場するわけです。
しかし、歌詞を重ね合わせると・・・
複数の女性に主人公が手をだしているようにも思えてきて・・・
ヒロインは一人に絞った方がよかったのでは？

とにかく、ファンにとっては、マストなコレクションだと思いますわよ。

一方”Avatar"の方には、”Change Your Mind"と”Take　You To Heaven"の２曲がこのアルバムのみ。
”Love Is Life"はEWFのデビューアルバム”EARTH, WIND &FIRE"に収録されていた曲のリレコーディングです。
新生EWFを意識してあえてデビューアルバムの曲を選んだのではと俺は思っています。

このアルバムでSheldon ReynoldsがEWFのアルバムでは初めて何曲かリードボーカルを勤めています。
